Samsung Announces AI-Powered Smart Glasses

Samsung has announced that AI-powered smart glasses, developed in collaboration with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, are on the way. The Android XR ecosystem will be prominent in the glasses.
Samsung is accelerating its moves in the field of wearable technology. The company is preparing to launch its first AI-powered smart glasses, developed in collaboration with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, next year. Samsung describes the new products as fashionable glasses that integrate AI technology.
Samsung Smart Glasses are Coming

Shortly after the introduction of the Galaxy XR headset, Jay Kim, Samsung’s Head of Customer Experience, made statements regarding smart glasses at the end of the event. Just as with the Galaxy XR, Samsung is collaborating with Google on the smart glasses. Kim stated, “By collaborating with Warby Parker and Gentle Monster, two of the most forward-thinking brands in the eyewear industry, we aim to offer new devices that fit your lifestyle.” Google had also announced collaborations with both firms and showcased prototype Android XR glasses at I/O 2025.

Samsung’s work with the two brands focuses on different market segments. The Gentle Monster partnership will result in a product that is fashion-forward and targets high-end designs, while the Warby Parker collaboration will be a more affordable model aimed at the general user.
Both glasses series will feature advanced AI capabilities developed in partnership with Google. Therefore, we will see a strong emphasis on Gemini during the glasses’ launch. Additionally, the glasses will operate within the Android XR ecosystem.
The devices are expected to utilize a Gemini-powered display. This display will project brief information, such as notifications, music controls, and turn-by-turn GPS directions, directly onto the lens of the glasses. The glasses will also include a built-in camera, microphone, and speakers. This will allow users to interact via voice commands and remain connected to their surroundings.
On the other hand, Samsung has not yet disclosed the glasses’ visuals, price, or definitive launch date. It was simply announced that the glasses are on their way. However, Samsung’s venture into smart glasses will not be easy. Meta holds significant power in this area. The company had already taken a step into smart glasses with integrated displays by introducing the Ray-Ban Display model in recent weeks.
